7 Tragic Things About the Israeli Raid of the Gaza Flotilla

Seven miscellaneous tragic aspects of this event:

    1. The ineptness with which the Israeli navy boarded the ship and put its own men in danger
    2. The worldwide defense of an “activist” group so openly supporting the terrorist organization Hamas
    3. The continual perversion of the English language in the use of the word “activist” to describe a terrorist supporter
    4. That the U.N. Security Council so quickly condemns Israel and supports a group of poor activists without first identifying the nature of who they are supporting and what the group’s activities were (possible links to the global jihad network, anyone?)
    5. The choice by terrorist supporters to use women and children as human shields
    6. That even now, these Israel-haters won’t learn to mind their own business and and will continue to be gnats on the ass of Israel
    7. The continual perversion of the English language in the use of the word “innocent” to describe adults who ought to know that what goes in and out of the Gaza strip is of life-or-death importance to Israel, and that you knowingly risk your life when you fuck with that

That about covers it, though I think #1 is the most important point. If a country is going to have forced military service, said military should at least arm its soldiers with real guns instead of paintball guns. Next raid it will be squirt guns, followed by the “tag, you’re out” strategy of warfare.

CNN had an article that should be used to teach a class on doublespeak. “Activists allegedly assaulted” whereas soldiers “attacked” or “invaded.” Oh and my favorite, Muslim Brotherhood was described as a “hardline Islamic political group.” Even this misinformation was buried at the end of the article, after at least 3 mentions of the fact that the incident took place in international waters.

The people on the ship are not even hiding their terrorist ties or the fact that they were trying to aid Hamas. And why should they? No matter who they are or what they do, the world is on their side because the world is against Israel. As on the playground however, whatever all the other kids oppose is probably the thing you ought to support. All it would take is for the biggest kid on the playground to pick the right side without equivocation, but of course the U.S. will never do this as long as we are ashamed of our own strength.

Awesome: a chick who thinks as you do. Do you live in the New York City area and are you available for drinks? I’m available. (My wife will have to chaperone, but don’t worry, she drinks, too.)

Alas, my husband/chaperone and I are in San Francisco. But perhaps we could meet in the middle. That would be Lexington, Nebraska according to Google.
